The Neighborhood
Villa Amistad is located in El Cerro, one of Puerto Vallarta’s original hillside neighborhoods overlooking Banderas Bay. Our small cobblestone alley is home to long-time Mexican families, many single middle-aged to older women, and a few gay men — a close-knit community where neighbors know each other and look out for one another. It feels authentic, lived-in, and safe.
Guests love staying here because they can enjoy the energy of the city, then return to a peaceful, local neighborhood that still feels genuinely Mexican.
Getting Around
The Romantic Zone, Centro, and 5 de Diciembre neighborhoods are all within walking distance—most places are 5–25 minutes away on foot. The hill up to the villa is moderate; guests who prefer not to walk are welcome to use the many Ubers and taxis readily available and affordable in this area. Local buses run along the main roads below and cost 10 pesos (exact change required). Our concierge service by Faby can arrange airport transfers and private transportation during your stay. Her contact information is located in the digital guidebook available after booking.
Parking is not allowed on Arroyo del Pedregoso, but free street parking is available on nearby streets.
Guests can drive up to the house to drop off luggage.
Families
Families with children are welcome, but please note the villa is not childproof. There is an unfenced pool, open stairs, low railings, and breakable artwork and pottery. No children’s furniture or toys are provided.
We encourage parents to reach out before booking if they have questions to ensure the villa is a good fit.
Concierge Services
Our concierge service by Faby pairs local know-how with warm, attentive service. Before you arrive, Faby can arrange airport transfers and grocery pre-stock. During your stay, enjoy private chef dinners, boat charters, curated tours, and beachside romantic picnics. You’ll receive a bilingual digital guidebook with Faby's contact information.
Personalized Hospitality
We are Mark and John, your Hosts during your stay at Villa Amistad. We live onsite in private apartments, along with Miguel one of our Housemen, so we’re nearby if you need anything—without intruding on your privacy. You may see us around helping staff or maintaining the villa; occasionally we use the shared spaces, but only when they’re unoccupied and always with guest comfort in mind. We're here to help as much or as little as you’d like—whether that’s answering questions, offering local tips, or simply ensuring your stay is smooth and relaxing.
And if you rented Villa Amistad-The Entire Place, the main villa itself — including the pool, terraces, and all guest spaces — is reserved entirely for you and your group. We’re nearby to ensure everything runs smoothly, but never intrusive. Our presence in shared spaces is solely to support the staff, handle maintenance, or respond to requests — always with your comfort and peace of mind as our top priority.
